Decorative Concrete

Recently GLI Landscaping attended and was certified as one of only a handful of contractors in western Canada to install decorative concrete flooring and counter tops after successfully taking part in a course specifically designed for the application of concrete dyes, stains and skim coats taught by Bob Harris of the Decorative Concrete Institute located in Pennsylvania. The course which was a combination of theory and hands on experience will complement our existing knowledge of less complex and more commonly used applications such as stamped, exposed and broom swept concrete while allowing us to bring on an additional service for our clients and give us an advantage when competing in the market place.

The products can be installed over existing flooring or counter tops and is a cost effective alternative to granite in kitchens and bathrooms. Whether an interior or exterior application, uses will likely be to refinish existing concrete structures that need a face lift or those that may be beginning to fail. Most commonly projects will involve transforming garage floors, basement floors and show room floors to include complex themes, paths and images or just to provide an acid stain to a surface for those that aren’t happy with the look of raw or painted concrete floors. In the future we’ll be adding further to our concrete services by gaining certification in the installation of concrete counter tops and interior and exterior vertical applications.
